Audi switched to a new provider, but only newer MMI headunits that have a Qualcomm CPU are compatible. They came out with the updated headunit around 2019 and existing cars with the new headunit received a software update to enable the new provider if they originally shipped with Google Earth.

There’s a bundle pack with latest firmware update with pre-activated Audi ASI + lifetime maps license + 2023 map files & POI with speed cams . If don’t need maps update or speed cameras POIs there’s also single firmware update available . All other Mib2 units must use script to patch their MMI systems. How to install script?
Because that Update menu looks quite similar to the one used for Updating the maps too. It would be good to know if someone just navigated to that same Update screen, to see if the car is clever enough to recognise the type of update on the SD card and perform it. Also is the software update linked to the hardware or the software version.
Need to go to AudiConnect -> Services -> AudiConnect user management and scroll through the icons horizontally until you get to "Map Update". Can select the entire map package (10.5 GB) or select maps - it is a Java downloader so may need to update Java.
My own TT RS was produced on 4/19 (specifically CW15/19), it only accepted the Q3/2020 (NAR 2021/2022) map update, not the latest currently available. You will have way better maps if you just use one on your phone. Waze used to be the best, but right now I prefer Google Map. If you want off-line maps, I really like MapFactor. Besides up-to-date map, you will get powerful backend, current traffic condition information. And it is free.
